 THE ROLE AND MISSION OF BELIEVERS IN THE CHURCH

Believers, the word as mentioned in Acts 5:14 and 1Timothy 4:12 besides in other 110 different verses in the New Testament of the Bible, mean “those who believe”, or we can say “those who professed faith in Christ, and attached themselves to the Christian Church.”
What a believer, being a disciple of Christ, needs to do is follow the teachings of Christ, obey his commandments, and become Christ-like for others impregnating and transforming the entire texture of the human society with the values of the Gospel through his life, word and deeds.Preaching the Good News besides following the same becomes a missionary mandate as commanded by Jesus after His resurrection. The exemplary life of the first community of believers, which we can read in the Book of Acts of the Apostles (2:42-47; 4:32-35; 5:12-16), should therefore be an inspiration for all believers, irrespective of the circumstances or the cost of following Christ, our Supreme Head and Master.
God can work wonders through each and every believer, so precious and dear to him as Jesus promised. We can find in the Bible, thus, about 36 similitudes of Believers namely- Jewels(Mal.3:17), Calves in the stall (Mal. 4:2), Sun(Judg. 5:31), Gold(Job 23:10), Fruitful trees, panting deer, Palm trees, Cedar trees, Eagles, Mt.Zion (Ps. 1; 42:1; 92:12; 103:5; 125), Stars(Dan.12:3), Salt, light, City, Candle, Wheat, Babes, Fish, Servants (Matt. 3:12-13;5:13-14;11:25;13:48;25:21), Sheep, Branches, Lambs (Jn.10; 15; 21), Building, Runners, Members of a body (1Cor.3:9; 9:24; 12), Epistles, Ambassadors (2Cor. 3:1-3; 5:20), Soldiers, Athletes, Vessels (2Tim.2), Living stones, A spiritual house, pilgrims (1Pet.2) and so on...

Jesus says, “I am the WAY, and the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) See for yourself the prophecy of Isaiah about Jesus being fulfilled, “He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.” (Is. 53:4; Matt. 8:16-17) at JEEVAN DHAM.

 MARY, THEOTOKOS- MOTHER OF GOD AND MOTHER OF ALL MANKIND! PRAY FOR US !

The Church contemplates with wonder and celebrates with veneration on the 1st of January the immense greatness conferred on Mary, that is, the title of ‘Mother of God’, by the One who wanted to be her Son. Contemplation of the mystery of the Saviour’s birth has led Christian people not only to invoke the Blessed Virgin as the Mother of Jesus, but also to recognize her as Mother of God. In proclaiming Mary “Mother of God”, the Church thus intends to affirm that she is the “Mother of the Incarnate Word, who is God”. Her motherhood does not, therefore, extend to all the Trinity, but only to the Second Person, the Son, who, in becoming incarnate, took his human nature from her. Let us pray, thus, to our affectionate and loving Mother who still sheds tears for her children in this world who are in the clutches of evil, darkness, ignorance and sin, struggling and ailing, suffering and crying for help.
“Mary, our model and mother, by your obedience and patience you have taught us how to be true children of God. Please help us by your powerful assistance to overcome all our weaknesses, and to fulfill perfectly our tasks in life.
By your compassionate aid may we ever stand in spirit with you beneath the cross of Christ so that we may also rejoice with you in your divine Son’s triumphant victory over sin and death. In your maternal kindness help us to be faithful to prayers in the company of God’s Church.With your gracious assistance may we be near you in the glory of Christ’s kingdom come to sing with you and all the faithful the eternal praise of God. Amen.”

  I, Saroj, living in Faridabad, was in the clutches of evil spirits for the past 15 years. I went to several doctors and later to almost all sorcerers, and those practising magic and witchcraft in Faridabad, Delhi, Agra, Mathura, and Meerut spending even 7 to 8 thousand rupees daily. But I got no respite anywhere all these years. Altogether I had spent over one lakh rupees on my ailment.
When I came to know about the healing prayer service conducted here at Jeevan Dham, I attended the prayer service first time 6 weeks back. Through God’s grace, within the same day, I got relieved from all stress and possession. Now I feel perfectly alright and fit to do my household chores. Later, I had brought my daughter, who was ill for more than a month, and she was healed the same day. Moreover, I got rid of the incessant pain, which had made my life miserable for more than a decade, in my shoulders and back, in my eyes and legs. The truth of the powerful Word of God did set me free from all bondages and pain. Praise the Lord! Alleluia!

OPEN YOUR HEART TO DAILY WORSHIP! - Editorial

‘Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! ’ (Ps. 150:6)
Yes! This is the will of God in Christ Jesus for all His children- to be always rejoicing, to pray without ceasing and to be thankful in all circumstances. (1Thess. 5:16-18)
You do it naturally nearly everyday. You praise your coworkers/colleagues for a job well done. You congratulate friends on their achievements. So why not extend that habit of giving praise to God in Worship? Start it this New Year, if you have not done it till now.
Just as your mind and body need exercise to be healthy (of some value), so does your soul (more valuable)- your inner person. Worship God by acknowledging who He is and what He has done. He is the Creator of the Universe. Yet He is a personal and loving Heavenly Father concerned with the details of your life. Develop the habit of beginning and ending your day in worship, praising God for what He has done. When you praise God, it is harder to worry about the problems in life.
Take it to the next level. Let your entire life be an offering of praise to God. Imitate God, being His loving child, by living a life of chastity, integrity, and honesty. Be kind and charitable to others, work hard, and conduct yourself with dignity under stress.A grateful heart is a terrible thing to waste!
Regarding prayer this is the instruction which St.Paul gives to others: ‘First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone...This is right and is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior...I desire, then, that in every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.’ (1 Tim. 2:1, 3, 8)
